Some Slight Progress: Chapter 5/Week 5

This week was slightly better than the last, concerning the amount of yoga I have completed. My eating habits unfortunately, have not improved in the last two weeks. At least I can say I was able to manage my stress levels somewhat by completing two sessions of yoga, versus the once a week I have been usually doing. Although I’ve been sporadic with how much I stick to my Keto diet recently, I was really more apprehensive about how much meditation I have been incorporating thus far in my journey. I’m a little more concerned with how much anxiety has increased since I’ve re-enrolled in college. The absolute need to decrease my anxiety and stress has definitely taken priority. Even though all my goals have not been met at this time, I’m trying to look at all the positives of this week. I have done one hour of traditional yoga and I also discovered a more intense form of it on YouTube. It’s essentially a form of Pilate’s that includes very intense core exercises, more so than the traditional yoga. Let’s just say the next day I was very sore!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0CkBw5Wock. This link will take you directly to the page on YouTube called Bloglates, which has a variety of videos that one can do right at home! Lets hope next week I can work a little more on the diet component of my goals.

I didn’t die. There’s a positive.

When reviewing the reading from this week’s chapter 5, I realized there is a lot of information that I never even considered before. I discovered there are so many different forms of contraception that men and women can both take. Some are effective more so than others, and exhibit various ways of preventing pregnancy. There are ones that are complete barriers physiologically, ones that are hormonal, and routes of by surgical sterilization. I found it interesting how some preventative measures not only intercept pregnancy, but they can also prevent STI’s. I feel that most of the information in this chapter should be an absolute discussion for anyone sexually active, just based on the sheer fact that a lot of society are not aware of all contraceptive availability. Majority of precautions can be effective by adhering to person’s particular lifestyle as well. This includes religious and mainly how convenient a specific method is. This chapter was definitely eye opening in how much information I really didn’t know, and how many issues surround sexual relationships and their effects on an individual’s lives.
