Week 2 and Chapter 2

One session of Yoga down

Well I have to say this week was a big accomplishment in completing an incremental goal. I think starting off small and moving toward my ultimate goal of Yoga three times per week is a process. When reviewing Chapter 2, I found a substantial amount of information that I can acquire when working towards this. The importance of spirituality; really accommodates my practice of Yoga. Saturday after I got off work, I decided to just try 1 hour dedicated to purely just Yoga and mindfulness. For something as little as one hour just clearing my mind, I can already feel the physical benefits.

I have GAD, which is generalized anxiety disorder, and I have been on medication for years. I’m hoping the increase of more meditation and more altruistic ways of going about life will assist. After the practice of that one hour, I felt like I was calm enough that even the most overwhelming of things could be taken care of. I also became more interested in Mindfulness based Therapy. It’s nothing I have ever considered to try but while reading it, your mind is put into the present and not the ominous future.

It also helps that I’ve been sticking to my Keto diet at least 5-6 days a week so far. I feel that eating such a clean diet has really boosted my esteem and my sense of self-efficacy. I think as the weeks go on and one goal after another is accomplished, I will have an attitude where I know I can do this. Lets see how next week goes!
